API search issue

Alessandro Vallin
Good morning

I am using the following API search, which used to return title, content and link of a Wikipedia entry:

Just recently I noticed that it is always returning an empty content part ([""]):

["alessandro leogrande",["Alessandro Leogrande"],[""],["https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alessandro_Leogrande"]]

Can you please give me any insight?
Thanks,
Alessandro

I saw this happening too and complained, but it seems they don’t want to fix the issue. They suggested I switch APIs but this leaves all of my existing clients running older releases out in the dark.

Would suggest you complain there.

Re: API search issue

Alessandro Vallin
Thanks. It's disappointing, but I'll try to find a workaround.

I think you need to either comment in the issue I created in

Or write your own bug in phabricator. I’m don’t know if there’s another bug tracker to report in via Wikipedia instead of wikimedia.

Re: API search issue

Brian Wolff
You can award a "the world is burning" token on the phabricator bug to denote you are unhappy with the situation.

Please dont create additional bugs. Having multiple tickets on the same topic makes things hard to follow.

Wikimedia phabricator is the official bug tracker for wikipedia. There is no other bug tracker for wikipedia.

Re: API search issue

Alessandro Vallin
Actually, I do not think it is a bug.
It's a choice made by who maintains the OpenSearch API.
So I will not complain on Phabricator.
