[MediaWiki-l] Mod_rewrite broke my images?

Greg Rundlett (freephile)
i setup my mod_rewrite rules[1] in order to support multiple language wikis
at wiki/en wiki/es wiki/fr wiki/de etc. But somehow I've destroyed the
ability to view and/or upload images Can anyone help me get my images back?

Aside, are there any decent online tools (like regexr.com) for working with
mod_rewrite (I know about the redwerks site.[2])

note: This install is based on Meza [3] but is different than a normal Meza
install where the first folder in the path would be the name of the wiki...
in this case 'wiki' is just a virtual path component.

Example 1

URL: https://fswiki.qualitybox.us/en/img_auth.php/5/59/Geographylogo.png
Result: 404
Description: Although this PHP script (/en/img_auth.php) exists, the file
requested for output
(mwstore://local-backend/local-public/5/59/Geographylogo.png) does not

ls -al /opt/data-meza/uploads/en/5/59/Geographylogo.png

-rw-rw-r-- 1 www-data www-data 903 Jul 8 2016

And, all images go through img_auth.php. img_auth.php says in the log that
it's streaming:

[1] Code samples https://demo.qualitybox.us/wiki/Wiki_farm
[2] This is what Redwerks thinks
[3] https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Meza
