ORCID & other Authority Control

Andy Mabbett-2
It is now possible to use Authority Control identifiers (such as VIAF,
ORCID, etc.) for taxon authors on Wikispecies.

It is also possible for editors to put their own ORCID (or other
Authority Control) identifier on their user page.

For details of how to do this, and examples, please see:

   https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Authority_control

ORCID is an open identifier for researchers and other contributors to
academic literature. Background information on ORCID for Wikimedia
users is at:

   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:ORCID

Curious. Why do you think this especially applies to Wikispecies
editors? They are awesome and certainly deserve to be special, but I
know too little about ORCID to understand.
