Problem with openlayers and OSM

Toni Hermoso Pulido-2
Hello,

I cannot use openlayers and OSM in my SMW wiki and I've noticed that is
also the case here:
http://mapping.referata.com/wiki/OpenLayers_examples

On the other hand, I tried in my wiki (Semantic Maps 1.0.5, Maps 1.0.5)
whether this works: http://mapping.referata.com/wiki/OSM_examples
but it doesn't either.

What would you recommend (using MW 1.17.2) ?

Thanks!

Re: Problem with openlayers and OSM

Yaron Koren-2
Hi Toni,

Yes - Jeroen and I discussed this problem earlier. Interestingly, though
the URL you linked to doesn't work, this one does:

http://mapping.referata.com/wiki/OpenLayers_examples?debug=true

Thus, I think it's some sort of bug in MediaWiki's Javascript handling
(i.e., the ResourceLoader), that shows up when some of the OSM Javascript
is used. Anyone should feel free to submit a bug report to MediaWiki about
it.

Re: Problem with openlayers and OSM

Yaron Koren-2
It looks like this bug was already fixed in November:

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:Code/MediaWiki/103915

...which means that people having this problem can either revert to a
version before the bug was introduced (I think 1.17.1 and 1.18.0 are both
fine), or update to the latest trunk, or wait for the next version to come
out - 1.17.3, 1.18.2, 1.19.

Hi David,

Yes, indeed, it does, unfortunately... my guess, then, is that the fix will
only appear in MediaWiki 1.19 and higher.

Oh, ok.
And, in the meantime, there is not any workaround or something to solve
it?

You can replace your includes/libs/JavaScriptMinifier.php with the trunk
version

Re: Problem with openlayers and OSM

Yaron Koren-2
Platonides - thanks! That did the trick. So now OpenLayers works again on
Referata, at least... and actually, this is a good fix to know about for
anyone using OL on MediaWiki 1.17 or 1.18.

Re: Problem with openlayers and OSM

david-217
Hi, changing this file didn't give a complete solution in my wiki.
There is a strange behavior where openlayers don't works:
http://lletra.uoc.edu/viquilletra/Usuari:Dvdgmz/test/maps/openlayers
But if I have the same query with google in the page openlayers works:
http://lletra.uoc.edu/viquilletra/Usuari:Dvdgmz/test/maps/openlayers-n-google

¿¿¿¿????

:-/

David.

It may be fetching the old minification from the cache.
Touching
extensions/Maps/includes/services/OpenLayers/OpenLayers/OpenLayers.js
should be enough, but you could also truncate the msg_resource table.
