Showing thumbs in format=table

Emilio J. Rodríguez-Posada
Hi;

Is it possible to show image thumbs in format=table? I have a [[image:: ]]
property in several pages.

Not that I know of. I wrote all my code back when image support was very poor. It has improved now, but I haven't explored it much. What have you tried so far?

Hi.

Yes, it is possible to have images in tables. However, you need:
$smwgLinksInValues = true;

in your LocalSettings.php for this to work.

Cheers
Neill.

Neil,

I guess you mean something like here:
http://de.wiki-products.org/SMART_fortwo_(II)_mhd
See the yellow and green stars under the headline "Sicherheit"

We are using the following template for it:
http://de.wiki-products.org/index.php?title=Vorlage:PKW&action=edit

Where this part is relevant:

|Erwachsener:
|{{ #if:{{{Euro NCAP (Erwachsener)| }}}| [[Datei:ECAP_{{{Euro NCAP
(Erwachsener)}}}.png|80px]] | }}

What we did, was to upload files, which are named e.g. like
"ECAP_1_gelbe_Sterne.png", "ECAP_2_gelbe_Sterne.png" and so on.
http://de.wiki-products.org/Datei:ECAP_4_gelbe_Sterne.png

Hope this helps.

best

Francis

No. I have a bunch of writers biographies, each one with an image property.

And I want to show an {{#ask:}} query where one cell is a thumb of the
image.

Re: Showing thumbs in format=table

Yaron Koren-2
Hi emijrp,

I'm pretty sure that if you just query on that property (which I guess
you've called "image"), a thumbnail will be displayed in the table.
You just need to make sure that the property is of type "Page".

Re: Showing thumbs in format=table

I think this is a report of a similar bug, where the File namespace isn't handled correctly in Semantic Forms:

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32420

If SMW is also not handling the File namespace, then that is a blocker bug in SMW for the Semantic Forms bug. I do not recall running into that issue in SMW.

There's no bug here - the property has to point to the full page name.

And how can I change the image dimensions in the table? For example, do not
show more than 100px width.

Re: Showing thumbs in format=table

Yaron Koren-2
Hi,

I'm not sure if that's possible, unfortunately - SMW just uses
whatever thumbnail has been generated for each image. It might be
possible to change the sizes of the original thumbnails using this
setting, but I don't really understand the setting so I can't say for
sure:
