Table structure and excessive size

Sergey Chernyshev-3
I tool a look at table structure of smw_* and noticed that all of them store strings for subject, relation and object titles.

It's not very clear why this information is being stored when ids are available for them (always for subjects, at least).

I'm very concerned with the size of data storage and smw_* tables are growing for me almost as fast as content pages which seems to be excessive.

Can you explain how this can be avoided?

Thank you,

         Sergey

Re: Table structure and excessive size

I created a bug for this in Bugzilla: http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10087
I'm sorry if I'm just bitching about the size, but it's important issue for me considering my data footprint (see bug details).
