[WikiEN-l] Forget worries about [[WP:RS]] and [[WP:CITE]]...

Christopher Thieme
...NUKE [[WP:CIVIL]] as it's unworkable, increases uncivil conduct, and
encourages hypocrisy.

And I am serious.  I also think [[WP:GA]] is incorrigible and unredeemable,
that is has lost it's credibility and is better put out of its misery
instead of remaining a mockery of its good intentions.

Regards,
Christopher D. Thieme

Oh, just delete the whole project and start again. That would solve
everything.

How does it increase uncivil conduct?  Compare Wikipedia talk pages with
*any* discussion forum or bulletin board.

When aggression exists, [[WP:CIVIL]] does turn it into this snide
through-the-teeth aggression.  "Thank you for contributing to our project
(fuckhead)!  We really appreciate your contributions, but we've deleted them
all (because you're an idiot).  Please read through all our policies before
making further contributions (because you're clearly too dense to have
absorbed them the first time)."

But it's still better than the unmoderated flamewars you'll find on any
other site.

Support. Delete [[WP:CIVIL]] and [[WP:NPA]] because they incentive users
to be uncivil and give them ideas about personal attacks per [[WP:BEANS]].

Hah. At the rate we're going, that doesn't seem to be out of the question.

Presuming for a moment that you are, how would deleting [[WP:CIVIL]]
help the project?

Steve

While we're at it, get rid of [[WP:AGF]], for pretty much the same reason.
The majority of uses of it are when a user commits an abuse and deflects
criticism by saying "you aren't assuming good faith about me".
