[Wikimedia-l] New font for accessibility to dyslexics

ENWP Pine

Could someone look into how readers and editors could be given an option to use the “OpenDyslexic” font? This would seem to be a good fit with WMF’s mission of making knowledge be globally accessible. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19734341.

Thanks,

Pine

This font is getting huge publicity lately - people are asking me
about it all the time.

I'm pleased to say that the Foundation's Language Engineering Team
already started to work on adding the support for it to the WebFonts
extension.

If you are curious in the gory technical details, see
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40539 .

That's a question to the font developers, not to us. We are just
integrating it :)
